My first love is on the back of a truck for the first time in the 6 and a half years I’ve had it. I believe the fuel pump gave out. I’ll just have to wait for the call from the shop to see what the damage to my wallet is going to be. This is the first repair in the time I’ve had it, so I guess i can’t be too upset though.

Wait.. You bought a Patriot and it didn’t fall apart? I sense some sorcery among us.

I know right? It’s almost as if doing basic maintenance is all ot takes to make a car reliable or something

Consider yourself extremely lucky. My stepmother has had terrible lucky with her Compass. It constantly falls apart and my dad makes sure it gets regular maintenance. Right now it needs a new pulley or bearing for the belt, makes a horrible rattling/banging noise the whole time the car is on.

Wow, sounds like a bad egg. I know a few people that have/had a compass, patriot, or caliber and have no trouble at all. This is the most reliable vehicle anyone in my family has ever owned.

The first owner must have not taken proper care of it. It’s at about 160k km now and she’s had it since about 63k km. It was good until about 100k km then it started falling apart. I know people who have a Patriot/Compass/Caliber and I’d say about 50% of them have never had a problem and the other 50% have constant issues.

Oh Jeeps, the greatest hit or miss game there is. But I think used is the trickiest waters to navigate there.

6.5 years trouble free. That’s impressive. You’re right when you say you can’t be too upset.
